Georgian-German International Summer School 2024 – “Supporting the Development of Georgian Small and Medium Enterprises”

From July 19 to July 25 of this year, East European University, together with Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and Tbilisi Humanitarian University, hosted the Georgian-German International Summer School: ” Supporting the Development of Georgian Small and Medium Enterprises.”

The International Summer School aimed to raise the qualifications of business students from East European University and Tbilisi Humanitarian University in various methods of strategic management. The starting point of the summer school was the Blue Ocean Strategy. Based on the mentioned method, different approaches of strategic management were studied within the framework of the summer school.

As part of the Summer School, professors and students from Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany) visited East European University. Along with the German professors, students were mentored by Georgian professors. Lectures were given by professors from East European University and Tbilisi Humanitarian University.

Within the framework of the Summer School, participating students visited Georgian enterprises: „Château Mukhrani“, „Zedazeni“, and „Tezi Winery“. The host companies introduced the participants to their work processes, such as product production and storage, export, relations with investors and the main areas of strategic management.

The summer school ended with student presentations on the strategic development approaches of the „Tezi Winery“. During the presentations, the students presented their visions and methods regarding the development of the company.

The closing ceremony was attended by the founders of „Tezi Winery“, together with the participants, professors and administration representatives of partner universities, who discussed the company’s growth and development strategies with the students.

In addition to the educational component, the Summer School included a cultural program. The visiting guests, together with representatives of the host universities and participating students, visited remarkable places in both the capital, Tbilisi, and Mtskheta.

On behalf of all three partner universities, certificates were presented to the participants at the closing ceremony of the Summer School.
