
June 12 / 2024 Public Lecture about Topic: “Personal Data Protection in Public Service”
On June 12, 2024 at 12:00 p.m., a public lecture by Tamta Kikolashvili, senior specialist of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, doctoral student of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, on the topic: "Protection of personal data in the public service" will be held at the Tbilisi Humanitarian Education University.
On March 1, 2024, the new Law of Georgia “On Personal Data Protection” came into effect. The law complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The new law introduced such innovations as personal data protection officer, incident notification obligation, new data security standards, data protection impact assessment and etc. Both the private and the public sector are facing a number of challenges on the way to the implementation of the new law. During the public lecture there will be discussed the main innovations proposed by the new law "On Personal Data Protection" and the process of implementing the innovations in the public service.
